Every summer, local authorities say no. In July 2026, marchers showed up anyway. They gathered in the city centre despite the ban. Police were present in large numbers. Oradea is a city of around 200,000 people in north-west Romania. It sits near the Hungarian border. The city is known for its Art Nouveau architecture and its conservative local politics.
