Nationwide, COC made agreements with 119 municipalities. These agreements make life safer for LGBTQ+ people. Regional COC offices negotiated directly with local governments.

Municipalities promise better supervision of discrimination and violence. They want to protect LGBTQ+ people at work and school. Agreements include same-sex relationships and adoption recognition. Municipalities will provide education in schools and businesses.

COC sees this as a big step forward. More municipalities understand how unsafe it feels. Many people don't report violence due to fear or shame.

The agreements are not legally binding. COC will check if municipalities keep their promises. COC can negotiate again if problems arise.
