Paris Pride will not take place in June this year. Inter-LGBT, the organising association, confirmed the cancellation. The decision came from Paris police headquarters. The official reason is extreme heat expected Saturday, June 27.

Inter-LGBT says it "takes note" of this decision. It was not their choice, but they accept it. Participant safety is the priority. Very high temperatures can be dangerous during large gatherings.

The Pride march attracts hundreds of thousands of people each year. It is an important event for the LGBTQ+ community in France. Marching in extreme heat represents a real health risk. Organisers decided to postpone the event.

The association is now working on a new edition in September. An autumn Pride is unusual for Paris. Normally, the march takes place in late June, during Pride Month. But this year, weather conditions are changing plans.

This postponement raises important questions. June Pride has strong historical significance. It commemorates the Stonewall riots, which occurred in June 1969. Moving the event to September slightly changes this symbol. But organisers prefer a September Pride over no Pride at all.

Climate change is making summers increasingly hot. This may not be the last time Pride is affected by weather. Other European cities could face the same problem in future. The LGBTQ+ community may need to adapt its traditions to climate challenges.

For now, Inter-LGBT calls the community to stay mobilised. Details of September Pride will be announced soon. The event remains essential for visibility and activism. The fight for LGBTQ+ rights in France continues, whatever the season.
