A beauty salon in Kyiv, Ukraine was attacked in a disturbing way. Someone dumped severed pig heads at its entrance. The reason was the salon's public support for LGBTQ+ people.

The salon is called G.Bar. It is located on Lesi Ukrainky Boulevard in Kyiv. The attack happened on 21 July. The chain's management shared the news on Instagram. Warning: the Instagram post contains graphic images.

G.Bar is a well-known beauty salon chain in Ukraine. The company has openly shown support for the LGBTQ+ community. This support made the salon a target for hatred and intimidation.

Leaving pig heads is a known form of hate intimidation. It is used to threaten and scare people or groups. In this case, it was clearly aimed at punishing the salon for its inclusive values.

This attack is part of a wider problem. LGBTQ+ people and their supporters in Ukraine face discrimination and violence. This happens even as Ukraine fights for democracy and freedom against Russia's invasion.

Many LGBTQ+ Ukrainians have spoken out during the war. They serve in the military and support their country. Still, they often face rejection and hostility at home.

Ukraine does not yet have legal recognition for same-sex relationships. LGBTQ+ activists have been pushing for change. They want the government to introduce civil partnerships. Some progress has been made in recent years, but full equality is still far away.

The attack on G.Bar shows that LGBTQ+ support can come with serious risks. Business owners who show rainbow flags or speak out for equality can become targets. This creates a climate of fear for both companies and individuals.

G.Bar has not said whether they will change their pro-LGBTQ+ position. Many people in the LGBTQ+ community and beyond have shown support for the salon online. They condemned the attack and praised the salon for its courage.

The incident has been reported to the police. It is not yet known if any suspects have been identified. LGBTQ+ organizations in Ukraine are calling for a thorough investigation.
